H2O for Peace – iPhoneography for Human Rights invites a wide audience of social- networkers to ponder on a highly significant conceptual idea whereby, also according to the UNO, water is life, the sap of human existence. Water is the human Right closest to Life. Sharing the supply of this vital lymph can be assured by dialogue between peoples, the circulation of resources. In brief, peace.

This sensitising campaign has chosen the art which more than any other spells sharing: iPhoneography, that is, a widespread, democratic art which permits people to create images using their smartphones and share them on the internet and the social networks. The enormous potential of this art make it the ideal creative medium for providing the whole world with a means of speaking about an important topic like water. This art, born on the social web, is now examined and studied in for its intrinsic worth and its strongly democratic nature also within traditional photographic environments.

LISA PETERS - RED FOUNDER AND NEM ARTIST

NEM RED 25 reaches beyond the surface, deep into the disenfranchised psyche where emotions fragment, lines blur, and details become so convoluted that we no longer recognize the path before us. It’s at these moments that RED provides a beacon, guiding us back, lending the courage to once again exhale. Congratulations to the artists who forged their way through the chaos.
