I am graphic designer with a passion for iphoneography.
I was born in Hong Kong to Filipino parents who moved there in the early 60s to work in publishing. My early life was spent in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. I studied graphic design in London and spent more than 20 years there before returning to Hong Kong, where I currently reside.
My hipstamatic work has been featured in the global photography project, 'Adventures in Hipstaland' (Hong Kong, Tuscany, and El Nido in the Philippines) and I was included in the list of '5 Amazing Hipstamatic Photographers' by Business Insider. My work has been included in several exhibitions including Pixels, the Art of iPhone Photography (2011), Hipstamatic! at the Kunsthall Museum, Rotterdam (2011), the LA Mobile Arts Festival, Santa Monica (2012), the App Wars Exhibition, San Diego (2012) and Studio B’s ‘Light Impressions’ at the Art Basel fair in Miami. I have also been featured as Artist of the Day in iphoneart.com.
I like to shoot with my iPhone as it gives me the ability to be spontaneous, to work discreetly and to catch moments of life without being obtrusive. Having access to different apps opens up many creative possibilities - one can push an image to the limit or keep it simple.
